Meet Kat

This page will show you a little sneak peak into my engagement shoot and wedding day with my favorite person, Levi. Whom I could not do this without the support and help that he is to me. I am usually behind the camera, but here are a few of me on the other side. I hope this glimpse into my story helps you get to know me a bit more...and I cannot wait to get to know you!

A glimpse...

Our wedding day was beautiful. The day was different than we had originally planned, but it was so special, nonetheless! The small, intimate, backyard wedding was so sweet. A little fun fact, I found my wedding dress second hand in a store located downtown of my hometown. It was a non-traditional shopping experience but a memorable and unique one at that. I was able to transform and design the dress with a local seamstress to make it my own while adoring the classic French vintage lace.

The greenhouse engagement shoot

This one is for my plant lovers, like myself! A greenhouse or botanical garden can take you to multiple different climates and environments in one place at the same time. You're surrounded by plants from all over and all you can do is look up and around in awe of the beauty. From the dessert to the rainforest, this location truly offers the most for photos and the experience is wondrous and magical. Before traveling to Costa Rica's many rainforests, I spent some time at this greenhouse studying the plant species native to Central America, only later to discover what a fantastic place for photos this could be. Our engagement shoot was inside this greenhouse and then outdoors of a nature preserve. Such a memorable day with both our photographer and my fiancé, now husband.

a good photographer...

We had an amazing photographer who shot our engagement and wedding photos. She was so flexible with us in arranging a time to meet, despite traveling from out of town. Then, during the peak of covid, she braved the health risks to be with us on our special day in July of 2020. Some of the qualities that stood out to me about Jamie that truly made her a good photographer, besides her skill level, was that she was personable, kind, flexible, made us laugh and get comfortable in the spotlight of the camera! Most importantly, she really positioned us...which gave us ease and freedom to be ourselves in front of the camera. I strive to learn from her and help my clients to feel the comfortability that she helped us feel during our photo session and on our wedding day. The photos on this page are all the work of Jaime Bee Photography.
